Ambitious Emma continues fantastic animal care

ORANGE vet nurse Emma Louise Spicer was named a runner-up in the Hill’s veterinary nurse of the year awards presented in Sydney last week.

The top prize went to Kathryn George from Dubbo.

The awards are designed to celebrate veterinary nurses all over Australia and recognise their dedication and commitment to the veterinary industry.

Ms Spicer was nominated by her colleagues at Orange Veterinary Hospital, who praised her “great ambitions, tireless work efforts and creative initiatives in client care”.

Within the last 12 months, Ms Spicer has implemented post-surgery recovering techniques and identified new services to be introduced.

Ms Spicer said she was pleased to learn that her employers think she’s doing a good job.

“I am committed to my work and I always want to increase my knowledge about animal care,” she said.

“I have always been very enthusiastic about my work, and this is a fantastic accolade.”

Hill’s Pet Nutrition’s Raelene Schafer-Evans said the number of nominees from throughout Australia was overwhelming.

“The 2012 candidates were outstanding and it has been tough to choose a winner,” she said.
