The P-plater, who was back in Orange from uni in Sydney for a few days, was driving in Lords Place when she was waved down by pedestrians who pointed at the front wheel of the her car.
That noise which she put down to the potholes in the roads was actually her tyre being shredded by the wheel rim. She pulled over near the taxi rank beside Robertson Park and called her father to come and change it.
By the time he had rugged up and driven across town a taxi driver, known affectionately as Grubby by his colleagues, had changed the tyre and gone off to collect a fare.
Grubby's kindness reminded her how great it is to live in Orange and the importance of being kind.
Taxi drivers are an important part of the fabric of our community and are sure to leave an impression on anyone who is on the receiving end of their kindness.
Next time you see someone in need, offer them a hand. It will always be appreciated.
