An ice-skating rink has been created inside the old Sam’s Warehouse building in the Orange Homemakers Centre. Slated to open on July 2, the rink has already generated huge interest.
Skating isn’t just for teenagers, with children as young as three able to take a turn on the ice, instead of a penguin however, it’s with specialised skates to help them learn.
The ice rink is portable and while not frozen yet, it will take just hours to create a smooth skating surface.
“It’s a bit of fun, it’s a great opportunity to learn how to skate, when people get older they get scared,” owner Michael Lalic said.
To book a session on the ice text 0421 788 605 with a name, number of skaters and the time and day.
Skating sessions start at 10am, with the last starting at 4pm while special night sessions on Thursday, Friday and Saturday start at 7.30pm. Gloves and mittens are advised while enclosed shoes are a requirement for young children.
