Rose told The Sunday Telegraph he feels he was treated unfairly by the three-man Group 10 judiciary, who upheld the original reckless high tackle charge despite Oberon fighting for it to be downgraded.

Rose sat out Oberon’s loss to Bathurst St Pat’s in round eight and Sunday’s 40-0 thumping at the hands of Orange CYMS.

“I doubt very much I’ll play in Group 10 next year. That’s how disappointed I am in what’s happened,” Rose said.

“I’m not a dirty player. In 12 years in the NRL I was charged three times.

“(To cop a) ban … for a tackle where the bloke jumped straight up and shook my hand, it’s pretty disappointing. Especially when a heap of other high tackles go unpunished.”

Considering Rose’s cult hero status, Group 10 president Linore Zamaparini is desperately hoping he reconsiders.

”We’ll welcome him with open arms if he wants to stay,” he said.

“There’s no doubt any [NRL player] coming into a country competition is going to get special attention … but the same rules apply to them.”
