A spokesperson for Vodafone says it has responded to feedback from residents and businesses in regional areas.
"Providing better coverage and choice to regional Australians is one of our core commitments at Vodafone," the spokesperson said.
A taxing decision
WITH TAX time looming it is a good opportunity to look more closely at health insurance options as they may impact on the Medicare Levy Surcharge (MLS) depending on your level of private hospital cover.
The MLS is dependent on your income with an additional tax of one to 1.5 per cent of your income for earners over $90,000 charged to those who do not have private health insurance.
Westfund Regional Manager Central West NSW Nicole Hilliard said people really need to do their homework when it comes to choosing health insurance, with commercial comparison services not always giving the full picture.
"Commercial comparison sites offer the consumer a chance to view some health policies side by side, however only a small selection of funds – and these are ones who pay to be included – are featured,” Miss Hilliard said.
Instead she suggests people take the time to use the Australian Government website privatehealth.com.au to get a broad view of health insurance options.
"Before it's too late, take the time to review how government incentives and penalties affect you and know your options to get the best health cover," Miss Hilliard said.
Christmas in July
THE UNION Bank is getting into the festive spirit this winter offering Christmas-in-July themed group dining packages prepared by chef Hugh Mawter.
"Christmas in July is a really great way to make the most of a cold, white winter," said Union Bank marketing manager Emily Mann.
