Bunnings Warehouse Orange complex manager Jason Bootsma offered a sneak peek into the impressive new warehouse yesterday afternoon.
To give you an idea of just how big the new $31 million store is, 70 new recruits will join over 100 existing team members transferring from the original warehouse - taking the total team to over 170.
Mr Bootsma and his employees can’t wait to officially move into the new premises and said that customers new and old should be just as excited.
“I’m pumped and the team is pumped - I just want to get it open to the customers because we’re so close to finished,” he said.
“The space is just so much bigger and there is lots more of everything.
“Over the past three weeks employees have filled the store with over $8 million worth of stock.
“It’s not just an upgrade of the store, it’s an upgrade of the products.”
Every section of the new store has been upgraded, including an undercover nursery that is four times the size of the old nursery and a home section that has doubled in size.
Previously customers had to order stock which could take three days to arrive, but the size of the new facility means every product will be on the floor, ready to be sold.
Mr Bootsma also said that the new store will be “tradies heaven”.
“Our indoor timber is three times the size of what it once was and would be the biggest range in the Central West for sure,” he said.
“We have a fully enclosed trade yard which is also twice the size it was before which gives us an infinite range for construction - everything is just big.
The store opening will take place on Wednesday, June 15, with rugby league legend Brad Fittler to officially open the warehouse doors to customers at 6.30am.
