Auctioneers Burns & Co. Auctions of Mildura have been appointed auctioneers for the iconic "Charlie McCarron" car collection, which will be held over the weekend of October 1 and 2, 2016.
The auction is sure to attract national and international interest as some of Australia's rarest Holdens go to the highest bidders, including the 46th built 48/215 FX with original 22,000 miles.
Also on offer will be a full range of HD, HK, LJ Torana GTR XU1, HR, EJ, HJ, FB, FX, HQ, HG Brougham, HK GTS Monaro, rare Commodores and a 1937 Chevrolet Standard Roadstar with a Holden body.
Owner Charlie McCarron started Canowindra Motors with his brother John in 1955.
He became the GMH Dealer Principal in August 1959 and commenced the sell out of the FC Model.
The trophy for his sales success was a stirling silver tray.
When Charlie built his residence in Winton Street, a large brick shed was built with the ability to store 20 cars, which became the nucleus of his motor museum, which is regarded as one of the best Holden collections in Australia.
