YEAR 12 music student Rhoslyn Carney received one on one instruction from internationally renowned flautist Jane Rutter when she visited Orange last weekend to perform in concert.

Rhoslyn has been playing the flute for nine years and is currently the captain of music at Kinross Wolaroi School where she is studying year 12 music and music extension and got to work on two of her extension music pieces as well as exercises and techniques with the international flautist.
“It was very enriching, I love the way she plays, she was educated by a very famous flautist Jean-Pierre Rampal,” Rhoslyn said.
“I’m a very big fan of the [French] school and the teacher she was taught by.
“Being a flautist there’s so many ways of playing.”
Although Rhoslyn had a one on one session, nine students also took part in a master class.
