DESPITE being winless through four rounds of Orange Netball Association’s Toyota Cup the sporadic glimpses of form OHS High A have shown don’t just suggest they can compete, they suggest the side is capable of a top four finish in 2016.
For High A coach Tegan Dray, turning that form from sporadic to consistent is the key which should unlock the side’s true potential.
“We’re playing really well most of the time it’s just that concentration has fallen off sometimes,” Dray said.
“At times we’ll lose concentration for an entire quarter which has had a real impact on some of the results so far this season.
“So we need to work hard to make sure we’re not dropping off, we’re also very focused on eliminating our errors and taking every opportunity we get.
“A win’s not far away.”
Saturday’s round five match-up with the also winless Robin Hood Craig Harvey Mechanical side looks to be High A’s juiciest opportunity for victory so far this year, after falling one goal short against KWS 1sts last weekend.
“It should be a really good game actually, we know the Craig Harvey Mechanical side pretty well, they’re all around the same age and a lot of them have played representative netball together,” Dray said.
“As I said for us this weekend it’s about eliminating those errors and making sure we take our opportunities.
“We’re getting turnover ball and that sort of thing we just need to be making sure we’re taking the right options and making the right decisions afterwards, to try and take advantage of every possession we have.
“We’ve got a really good range of ages and abilities, it’s just about making it all work together.”
High A take on Robin Hood Craig Harvey Mechanical from 2.30pm at Sir Neville Howse Stadium, they’ll be playing adjacent to the Vipers and Life Studio Mid West Eyes match-up.
Robin Hood and Royal Hawks kick off Saturday’s afternoon of netball with their blockbuster top-of-the-table fixture at 1.10pm, while KWS and Life Studio start at 3.50pm.
