FlyPelican is a Newcastle based independent regional airline that operates a fleet of 19 seat, pressurised British Aerospace Jetstream 32 aircraft.
“FlyPelican is very excited to be adding yet more routes to its network. Newcastle to Dubbo is very well suited to our Jetstream 32 aircraft that seats 19 passengers," FlyPelican CEO Paul Graham said.
"The flight time is just under one hour and we will be operating weekday early morning and evening return services providing essential services linking these city pairs.
"Discussions with Dubbo City Council and Newcastle Airport have been very positive and we are thrilled to be expanding our network and increasing capacity into both of these growing airports.
"The key to making this a successful route will be to provide a full day at each port for business and offer affordable fares that are within the budget of the leisure market."
Dubbo mayor Mathew Dickerson said the council was pleased to welcome FlyPelican's new service.
"This route opens even more opportunities for business and family travellers going to or coming from Newcastle and the Port Stephens area.
"With the addition of Newcastle, Dubbo is now within a direct one hour flight of six different ports.”
FlyPelican one-way fares on Newcastle-Dubbo services will start from just $99 inclusive of all taxes.
Flights can be purchased directly from the FlyPelican website www.flypelican.com.au.
