The university’s prospective student advisor Melinda Negus said FACTS provided the students with the opportunity to speak to a range of educational providers as well as hear a motivational speaker.
James Sheahan Catholic High School student Meg Thompson said it was helpful for her to speak to people from different universities.
“I’m looking at studying social work or occupational therapy at either Newcastle or Wollongong and I found the day really helpful. I got to speak to people about both courses as well as get information on early entry and ATARrequirements,” she said.
Nicholas Brouggy and David Goodman, both year 11 students at All Saints’ College in Bathurst, said they got a great deal of information from the session. Nicholas, who is considering either engineering or film production said it was a chance to find out about different pathways to his future career.
“It was great, I got to speak to [representatives from] a couple of universities who were able to go through some of the different options that were available to me. It was a really good chance to talk to them and find out different things I can do,” he said.
David, who is looking at the Australian Defence Force Academy after his HSC said he took the opportunity to speak to representatives from the Defence Force about the different pathways to a degree.
Ms Negus said the day was also an opportunity for students to experience CSU by attending the campus, which the students also toured.
