Dean Brus and Dave Oates took out all of the ACT State Titles in WA1500 and 25m service pistol last weekend.
It all started with the 25m service state title, with Brus cruising to an easy win with a solid score of 637 out of 650.
Oates then capped off Orange’s dominance of the event, finishing with the silver medal in the master grade with a score of 616 out of 650 and Orange club member Peter Brus just missed out on a medal with a 594 out of 650 result.
The remaining game last Saturday was the WA1500 revolver match, which is also a crucial Australian team selection score.
Oates found some recently absent form in this match to come out ahead to win with an impressive score of 1485 out of 1500, closely followed by Brus for silver with a score of 1482 out of 1500.
Peter Brus also narrowly missed out on a medal in master grade, finishing with a credible score of 1439.
The ODPC’s members competed in the second of the WA1500 state titles on the final day of competition last Sunday, however, this time in pistol.
Oates, again, found good form to take the title with a handy Australian Team selection score of 1491 from 1500, with Brus claiming silver with a solid score of 1477 out of 1500.
Remarkably, the weekend’s result now means that all six of the WA1500 and 25m service pistol titles held between NSW and the ACT for 2012 have been claimed by the two Orange club members.
