On Monday, Orange police noticed a driver in a utility on Byng Street travelling without a seatbelt on.
As police approached the vehicle they noticed stripped copper cable poking out from underneath the tarp.
Recognising that the cable was most likely stolen property, officers inspected the vehicle and also found a quantity of cannabis and housebreaking implements including a lock picker.
Police have charged the 25-year-old male with goods in custody.
Then at about 2.30pm on Wednesday, Orange detectives located an unregistered utility located in Coulson Park, Orange.
During an inspection of the vehicle, a large amount of copper and power tools were located in the rear tray.
Inquiries were made about the tools and some have been identified as tools stolen from a break and enter at a business associated with Cadia Valley Operations.
The owner of the vehicle, a 45-year-old male from Orange, was spoken to at the scene.
The vehicle, copper and tools were seized and inquiries are continuing.
As a result of the tools located in the utility on April 27, Orange detectives spoke with the 25-year-old male and again searched his utility for the presence of stolen power tools.
