Vietnam veterans Ted Kotynia and Bill Murphy were in Orange on Monday to march down Summer Street and carry Private Cutcliffe's Australian flag to honour his memory.
This is just one story out of thousands that represent the sacrifice made by service men and women from the bush to the Anzac legend.
Hundreds of other veterans and their relatives also marched in Orange on Monday, all with a story of their own.
The overriding theme and sentiment from veterans and their families was the involvement of Orange's youth and the respect they continue to show for those that have gone before them.
Des Redmond put his life on the line during National Service and said it was fantastic that so many people continue to turn out to march alongside him and pay their respects.
"We're remembering those that have gone before us and those that fought for our country and gave up everything for us," he said.
"I think it's marvelous that we're able to march in their honour.
"I march every year but the legs are getting old, age starts to catch up with you but I look forward to it each year - it's something we never want to lose.
"It's so great to see so many young people here today - there are more every year and it's a credit to the schools and all the work they do."
Hundreds of marchers left Orange Ex-Services Club at 10.15am, lead by the Orange High School Band.
Other groups included the Colour Party, Navy Veterans, Army Veterans, Air Force Veterans, Ex-Service Women's Association, Vietnam Veterans, National Serviceman's Association, Royal Australian Armoured Corps, 1975 Australian Forces, 1914-1918 Banner Bearers and the 3/29 Sqn 3 Wing Australian Air Force Cadets.
Several Orange schools also marched, including Kinross Wolaroi School Cadets, Canobolas High School, James Sheahan High School, Orange High School, Orange Christian School and Orange Anglican Grammar School.
The march concluded at the Robertson Park Cenotaph where over 5,000 people gathered for the 2016 Anzac Day Ceremony.
