UNTIL recently, I’ve had no reason to go to the Medicare centre in Anson Street.

I had been to the previous Medicare centre when it had been located in the Orange City Centre, almost two years ago.
I have to admit that I found the combined Centrelink/Medicare building and its spacious interior far from user-friendly and rather “cold” and daunting.
When I entered the building, I stood there for three or four minutes trying to get my bearings, before I realised I needed to join the queue and get my details taken by an employee.
I then took a seat with many other people until a Medicare employee located me.
Yes, the service was excellent, but I found the total experience far from ideal and certainly very different from being in the previous, smaller and more user-friendly location.

P.S. Resealing work on the Northern Distributor has certainly made a difference when driving on that important road!
