The closure of the pool comes on top of several evacuations of the main pool in the last few days due to a faulty sensor.
Orange City Council spokesman Allan Reeder said the latest evacuation happened during the small schools swimming carnival.
“Pool staff also did what they could to thoughtfully assist elderly pool customers out of the building and provide seating for them,” he said.
Mr Reeder said a technician had been called to the pool to investigate the suspected faulty sensor problem.
He said, due to the level of contamination in the toddler’s pool, it was treated with a super dose of chlorine overnight and will open later on Thursday.
The indoor 25 metre pool and the outdoor 50 metre pool are operating today as usual.
“Pool management regrets the inconvenience to schools and other customers who were unable to use the toddlers pool,” he said.
Mr Reeder said parents of children using the toddler and other pools are reminded of the importance of ensuring children with diarrhoea symptoms should not go to the pool for two weeks after they have fully recovered.
