The multi-coloured toilet will be moved from yard to yard until the relay takes place on April 2 and 3, with each host paying to have it removed to raise money for the Orange and District Relay for Life.
Worldly Treasures owner manager Giuliana Ryan said she was happy to help raise money for the cause.
“I kind of knew it was coming so I prepared myself with a good donation,” Mrs Ryan said.
“If I have my way it will be gone in the next day or so. We have to have a think about this [to give it to] someone who would really appreciate it.”
Yesterday, it turned up outside Bills Beans East Orange.
The Dunny Dump started last year and this year Kate Ziegler from Relay for Life team Friends 4 Life is running the initiative, with the proceeds to go to her team’s fundraising effort.
“I saw this last year on the Orange and District Relay for Life Facebook page and thought it was a fun idea, so when it was on offer this year I put my hand up for it,” she said.
“Cancer has touched the lives of many of my family and friends. Both of my parents are survivors and Dad is continuing to be monitored. This has made us very passionate about raising money for cancer research. Our involvement with the Relay for Life is to honour those we have lost and celebrate with those who have survived.”
Under the rules of the Dunny Dump, a resident can have it sent to a friend’s place for a $40 donation to Mrs Ziegler’s team page and if a person wants it gone, they can donate $40 to have it removed and sent to another friend, or leave it for three days and pay nothing. A $50 donation, or “Flushin Insurance,” makes sure that the dunny won’t end up on your lawn.
