I was very interested to read the comments opposite the photo of councillor Turner pinning the ambassador badge on artist Charles Billich.
Mr Billich is reported as saying that Orange has been the best city yet (for being an ambassador), and he would consider living here if he saw more buildings that looked like Duntryleague.
Obviously Mr Billich would not be impressed by the modern, 69-metre-long, two-and-a-half storey metal and glass motel being proposed for the heritage conservation area at the rear of 62 Byng Street.
The surrounding neighbours have been trying to get the message across to councillors that a lot of visitors come to Orange because of the charm of the historic buildings and mature trees of the central heritage conservation area.
