Thirty riders from Orange and Mullion Creek surrounds rode from Long Point to Hill End on Friday. They were sponsored per kilometre ridden.
The group then spent two nights in Hill End before riding back.
More than $2500 has already been counted and will be donated to the McGrath Foundation charity to support the work of nurses who help women throughout their cancer journey.
Ride coordinator Tina Andersen Linnegar was satisfied with the result considering it was the inaugural year of the event and was organised quickly.
“It was a long haul but also a day of leisure,” Mrs Andersen Linnegar said.
“I’m really pleased with the amount we raised given the number of people who took part.”
She said the McGrath Foundation was chosen as this year’s nominated charity because of the prevalence of breast cancer in the community is so high.
“Many of the riders know of someone who’s been affected by the disease,” she said.
“I’m sure somebody know somebody who’s been affected by breast cancer, it’s so frightfully common.”
Mrs Andersen Linnegar aims to make the event an annual fundraiser for a nominated charity.
