Part of a wider $15 million package across the next four years, it will deliver on a key Coalition government election commitment to support small exporters.
The funding will give them a leg up to international markets that can help them, and our regional communities, grow.
Among the organisations receiving support for projects are Cherry Growers Australia, Citrus Australia, Ausveg, Dairy Australia, Australian Egg Corporation, Grain Trade Australia, Grains Industry Market Access Forum, Primal Foods and M&S Consultants.
Further information on the package can be found at the Department of Agriculture’s website: http://www.agriculture.gov.au/export/product-overseas/package-assisting-small-exporters.
Calling prospective nannies
Nurses, farmers, police, emergency service employees and other parents who are struggling to match their work hours with conventional childcare options are invited to participate in the Australian Government’s new Nanny Pilot Program from early 2016.
The pilot will provide subsidised care for about 10,000 children around Australia during the next two years.
Many families are already utilising nannies and au pairs because the standard hours offered by the current system do not meet their out-of-hours needs or, in the case of rural and remote families, they cannot access a childcare centre.
The $246 million Nanny Pilot Program is the first part of the Coalition government’s Jobs for Families package and will help us develop future policy.
Family applications close on October 30.
On the road again
I’m taking my office mobile again this week for some more small town visits - this time, I’m heading to Mullion Creek, Cumnock, Yeoval and Molong.
More than a week ago, I enjoyed a visit to Hartley, Black Springs, Hampton and Jenolan Caves.
It was great to get to see so many locals turn out to have a chat and once again fantastic to visit the caves. We are lucky to have the natural wonder in our electorate.
I encourage locals to come and say g’day - I really enjoy meeting people who are passionate about their communities. If you would like more detail on the visits please contact my office.
