THEY’VE taken the long road to get there, but the Hawthorn Hawks are hoping to become one of only five clubs in the history of the Australian Football League to win three premierships in a row.

Carlton, Collingwood, Melbourne and Brisbane have all snared three titles in a row, but West Coast supporter Jena Templeton is hoping that the West Coast Eagles’ season form against the Hawks will continue.
“We’re just on fire,” Mrs Templeton said.
“We’re not intimidated at all.”
Regardless of who’s playing at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, every year at finals time the Templeton family warms the pies and chills the drinks at home before bunkering down in front of the television for the big game.
Despite smashing Hawthorn by 32 points when they met only three weeks ago, Mrs Templeton is expecting a close game.
“I’ll think we’ll only win by about seven points,” she said.
Hawthorn supporter Matt Tabbernor thinks that that result will be closer to 14, but on the Hawk’s side of the ledger.
“I grew up in the Ocean Grove region of Victoria, so my whole family followed Geelong,” he said.
“But I grew up admiring the likes of Dermott Brereton, Jason Dunstall and John Platten from Hawthorn, so I followed them.”
Mr Tabbernor will be watching the game with other supporters of the Orange Tigers AFL Club at Biddy Walsh’s.
“I’m sure there won’t be any Eagles supporters there,” he said.
