Principal Glen Bourke said the school had already started unearthing items from the past, such as old desks and a maypole to be used during the November celebrations.
“When you’ve got an old school and it gets to this age there’s layers of history and [building] work,” he said.
“We raided the March Street block and we found all sorts of things under there.”
Among the items found under the building was the old school bell, which will be reinstalled for the anniversary.
There were also old school records, furniture and equipment, some of which will also be displayed.
Mr Bourke said students would step back in time on Friday, November 13 by attending school in historical costumes, playing old-fashioned games and seeing how students were taught in the past.
Former staff members and students will also be able to take part on Saturday, November 14, when there will be a school open day from 9am to noon, with guided tours and memorabilia.
“It’s a really interesting thing for people to see new Chrome books and iPads, you can also go through the older buildings,” he said.
There will also be a dinner at the Hotel Canobolas Grand Ball Room from 6pm that evening.
Bookings for the dinner must be made by October 23 by phoning the school office on 6362 7464.
