Socceroos: Will Postecoglou's relationship with the FFA be damaged by backdown?

Ange Postecoglou might, under duress, have withdrawn his remarks criticising Football Federation Australia and the players' union for turning the national team into a political football in the row over pay and conditions for the Socceroos, the A-League and the Matildas. But he is clearly not happy that such a dressing down has been made in such a public fashion -  and that is what Wednesday morning's hastily issued press release, that bore all the hallmarks of a head office dictated statement, clearly was.
