Staff were also evacuated from the adjacent Cabonne Council building.
Acting Inspector Sergeant Brenden Turner said a staff member at the health facility received a threatening phone call at 10.25am yesterday morning.
“The staff member immediately called triple- 0 and emergency services responded,” he said.
Soon after police, Rural Fire Service and NSW Ambulance staff arrived in Bank Street and a command post was set up on the corner of Bank and Gidley streets.
Patients from the nearby health facility were transferred to local Scout hall under the supervision of staff while other staff members evacuated to the nearby village green close to the craft cottage.
Cabonne Council general manager Andrew Hopkins said he was impressed with the police response to the emergency call.
“Within 15 minutes everyone was here and working to resolve the situation,” Mr Hopkins said.
Acting Inspector Turner said police followed a strict set of guidelines set down in cases of potential bomb threats.
“We went into the medical centre and also searched outside,” he said.
