The projects this year are all about “building productive, profitable and robust communities”.
To do this our projects support individuals, businesses, community groups and other government agencies to deliver actions that will add value to local industries, enhance natural resources, and protect industries and our landscapes from pests and disease.
To find out more about our projects and partners head to our website www.centraltablelands.lls.nsw.gov.au or drop into one of the offices at Mudgee, Lithgow, Bathurst, Orange, Molong or Cowra. The contact phone number for the Central Tablelands region is 1300 795 299.
Expression of interest for projects will close on August 28, 2015 so I encourage you to contact your local office to find out more about what we can offer to support you in getting maximum outcomes for these projects.
LAST week I was pleased to hear about the progress being made with the Canid Pest Ejectors (CPE).
The CPE will soon be available for use on all lands in NSW. This mechanical devise has been used by the United States Department of Agriculture to control coyotes for many years.
The registration of the 1080 capsules used in conjunction with CPE will give land managers in NSW another tool to combat the ever-increasing wild dog predation and foxes which is evident in much of our area.
Land managers should contact their local biosecurity officer for information on their use and training requirements.
RECENTLY the LLS issued by mail the Annual Return of Land and Stock as at June 30, 2015.
These stock returns are due back by August 31. The return can either be lodged online at www.lls.nsw.gov.au and follow the links or by mail to Local Land Services, Locked Bag 6013, Orange 2800.
I AM looking forward to the Central Tablelands hosting the 2015 Landcare Forum in Orange in September.
Held over three days, the forum is shaping up to showcase the great range of projects and initiatives that are happening in our region.
In conjunction with DPI and NSW Landcare the forum will allow us to celebrate the wonderful success that has been achieved by a range of groups, industries, and individuals.
I am looking forward to seeing a great range of participants from across NSW who have already started to register for the forum.
IN the past couple of weeks we have lodged our Draft Regional Strategic Plan with the Minister for Primary Industries Niall Blair for comment.
This plan is designed to facilitate to the organisation in delivering direct action to our region. Shortly this plan will be available for you to review and provide comment.
I encourage everyone to provide feedback to us through the channels that will be provided.
