Kinross Wolaroi School students are bringing to life the popular Little Shop of Horrors, a story of a nerdy florist who finds his chance for success and romance with the help of a giant man-eating plant.
Over 100 year 7 to 11 students are involved in the production as cast, crew and orchestra members, including Zac Condon as nerdy florist Seymour Krelborn, Thea Regan as the beautiful Audrey, Toby Condon as florist owner Mr Mushnik and puppeteers Tanner Marjoram and Jock Medway who will control man-eating plant Audrey II.
Production manager and Kinross teacher Lee Morrisey said this production is one of the best student productions he has been involved in.
“We’ve been rehearing every Friday night, most Sundays and they’ve given up one week of their holidays,” Mr Morrisey said.
“The kids are so motivated to give up their time and really make this production great.”
Performances of the musical will be held at the Orange Civic Theatre on Friday and Saturday nights, beginning at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost $30 for adults, $24 for concessions and $80 for families. Tickets can be purchased through Ticketek or by calling the theatre on 6393 8111.’
