The famous British ceramic company is launching its newest series, the Great Southern Land Collection, with designer Vicky Lovatt and demonstration artist Peter Harrison taking a whirlwind tour Australia.
They will stop in at Orange on July 20 for a presentation at Duntryleague, which Ms Lovatt said will be an “informative and fun” evening.
“[The event will feature] a full presentation regarding the design process, touching on past collections as well as the Great Southern Land Collection. I will talk about where designers gain their experience and inspiration from. Peter will be demonstrating the very skilled art of tube-lining and painting raw clay. There will be an opportunity for questions and answers which we love,” Ms Lovatt said.
The Great Souther Land Collection features nine pieces in total, with designs featuring flowers like eucalyptus blossoms, orchids, wattle, waratah, Sturt desert peas, landscapes like the Twelve Apostles, and fauna like the Major Mitchell cockatoo and the boobook owl.
“Most of the subjects have not featured within any designs before and the dotted tube-lining, to denote Aboriginal art, is certainly a first,” Ms Lovatt said.
The Moorcroft presentation will be held at Duntryleague on July 20 from 6 until 9pm. Entry is free and no booking is required. For more information, contact Second Chance Collectable owner Karen Blacklow on 6369 1513.
