THERE are some happy mobile phone users in Cargo, Cumnock, Manildra, Molong and Eugowra following news that those communities will receive new mobile phone towers thanks to a $24 million NSW Government investment to eliminate some of the state’s worst black spots.

Patchy mobile phone reception is a real bone of contention for people living in country communities.
Now the NSW Budget is back in black, we have an opportunity to make a real contribution to clearing these black spots up.
The NSW Government’s investment of $24 million, along with $28 million of Federal Government funding and a contribution from the networks, will result in a total investment of $92 million.
The funding will be rolled out over a three-year period. A map of locations is available at www.communications.nsw.gov.au/mobile_coverage.
THE Cumnock War Memorial Gates will receive $1,269 from the NSW Government to preserve the monument for future generations.
The grant will be used for the restoration of the memorial gates and the plaques. The Cumnock Progress Association will co-fund the project.
The memorials are a reminder of the sacrifice made by thousands of soldiers who served their country and it’s essential these monuments stand strong and proud.
The NSW Government will provide a record 31 grants this year including funding to upgrade and restore 20 World War 1 memorials.

* $38 million for the Mitchell Highway upgrade at Guanna Hill.
* $38 million for new pipelines which will finally connect communities like Yeoval to a potable water supply.
* $7.5 million to commence planning on the replacement of the ageing XPT fleet.
* Funding to commence construction of the new Molong MPS and Ambulance Station.
* $1 million to progress Southern Feeder Road in Orange.
* $1.3 million for multiple overtaking lanes on the Cargo Road.
* $1.4 million for a pavement upgrade on the Orange-Parkes Road, west of Manildra.
* $10 million for maintenance work on state roads in the Orange electorate including pavement resurfacing, minor bridge upgrades, line marking and improved signage.
