Club’s $25m expansion years in the making

THE $25 million Orange Ex-Services’ Club expansion will include a bigger gaming area with more poker machines, but could take up to 15 years to be completed.

“The overall development of the club is aimed at reducing the reliance on gaming revenue,” the club’s chief executive officer Cameron Provost said.

“The aim is to provide a multi-faceted club for members, their guests and visitors.”

If the joint regional planning panel approves the development in October, work on the first stage will start early next year, Mr Provost said.

But the total nine stage development is anticipated to take 10 to 15 years.

The addition of 88 new motel rooms to the Templers Mill Motel will be the first stage of the development.

A four-storey car park with 750 spaces, accessed from Sale Street, will be available for members, their guests and visitors to the club.
