More than 40 people were present at last week’s information night, when it was explained what would be involved for the 20 cast and crew in the October production.
Spamalot tells the tale of King Arthur’s quest to find the Holy Grail, as inspired by the 1975 comedy film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
“It can be difficult to get the right cast for male-dominated performances such as this,” Mr Moore said.
“Some people who hadn’t necessarily been involved before are keen just because it’s Monty Python.”
Auditions will take place tonight and Wednesday from 7pm to 10pm, as well as on Sunday from 2pm to 5pm in the Band Hall in William Street.
People who audition will perform a Broadway-style song and a dance that will be taught during the session.
Despite a large amount of audition slots already filled, Mr Moore says there are ways to get involved with what he describes as a fun, adult and silly community theatre production.
