SUSPICIOUS: This Lone Pine Avenue house was damaged by fire.
POLICE are investigating the circumstances surrounding a suspicious fire that destroyed a house in Lone Pine Avenue on Saturday night.
Canobolas Local Area Command police attended the house on the corner of Bathurst Road at about 7pm following reports of a house fire.
Upon arrival police found two NSW Fire and Rescue trucks attempting to extinguish the flames.
The fire destroyed about 40 per cent of the home and took firefighters half an hour to put out, a Fire and Rescue spokesman said.
Police established a crime scene and forensic specialists were examining the scene as of yesterday.
The NSW Ambulance also attended but no-one was inside the premises at the time of the fire.
