With an ageing population and more young drivers on our roads, now would seem a good time for that simple but important message to be aired again.
At the age of 75, I now consider myself “a teenage senior” who sometimes wonders at the high speed at which some drivers approach pedestrian crossings and roundabouts.
I certainly couldn’t run or move quickly enough to avoid an oncoming car- could you?
P.S. It was Ogden Nash who said: “I prefer to forget both pairs of glasses and pass my declining years saluting strange women and grandfather clocks.” I know the feeling!
