The fundraising dinner will celebrate all things Nepalese, and raise funds to help the Asian country, which was struck by two devastating earthquakes on April 25 and May 12, killing 8600 and damaging 756,000 homes and buildings.
Alongside a mouth-watering feast of Nepalese dishes, Nepalese modern folk singer and television presenter Manju Poudel will travel to Orange to provide entertainment during the night.
Organiser Bev Rankin said members of the organising committee had been deeply touched by the plight of the Nepalese, struggling to recover after the deadly quakes.
“Part of it is personal connection, and part of it is just knowing the horror the Nepalese have had to go through and wanting to do something to help,” Mrs Rankin said.
“In the Australian psyche, there is a real drive to help a mate stand up again who has fallen on hard times.”
Proceeds collected tonight will go to the World Vision Nepal Earthquake Appeal and other groups like the Galkot Society of Australia.
Members of the Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak will also present information on the club’s ongoing work through its Nepal Community Development Project in villages in the Maidi area of the Dhading district.
The dinner will be on from 6pm until 9pm at the, however places are limited. For more information or to donate to the cause, contact Mrs Rankin on 0408 574 578.
