A general decline in bees, despite reliance on the insects for nearly 80 per cent of food production, poses many issues for the industry to come together and discuss, said event organiser Karla Hudson.
Ms Hudson said many positive parts of the industry would also be showcased.
“There’s a focus on three tiers of people involved in the market,”she said.
“We’re tailoring for beekeepers who are already into beekeeping, people thinking about beekeeping and consumers of bee-related products.”
The two-day festival include a variety of talks from industry experts, exhibitions, live bee shows, kids activities and celebrity cooking shows by MasterChef winner Kate Bracks at the Orange Showground each day from 10am to 4pm.
