ORANGE City’s Blowes Clothing Cup clash with Narromine on Saturday is all about building.
The third-placed Lions are favourites for the match against Narromine who are winless after five rounds and sit at the bottom of the competition ladder.
City have had one loss this season but co-coach Mick Gray said his team was working towards two of its toughest games against Bathurst Bulldogs in round eight followed by Orange Emus.
“We expect they’re an easier game but we’ve got to get things right to play Bulldogs and Emus,” Gray said of the Gorillas.
“They’re not going real well but it’s always hard to play up there. We won’t take it easy. We’re ready for it.”
The Lions are coming off a thrilling 34-31 victory over Mudgee, where Mesui Lemoto kicked a penalty goal in the dying minutes to hand his side the win.
Gray said it was clear the Wombats were a much improved side.
He also said, after leading 21-5 at half-time, he expected his side to close the game out if they scored a couple more tries in the second half.

Instead Mudgee came back and tied things up at 31-all.
“The good thing was we dug deep again and won it,” he said.
The co-coach was happy to see his team’s scrum improve and hopes that continues against Narromine, who are notorious for having a large forward pack.
The Lions will have a few changes to the side to take on Narromine with Darcy Garlick back in the front row.
Captain Cameron Cole will return to five-eighth, pushing Lemoto to inside-centre.
Jake Davis goes to outside-centre and Sam Coote will start at fullback to replace Joe Lasagavibau who is unavailable.
After tomorrow’s game, the Lions will host CSU Bathurst before they square off with the Bulldogs and Emus on June 13 and 20 respectively.
“We’ll use the next two weeks to make sure we’re right for the big finish,” Gray said.
Saturday’s first grade match at Cale Oval will kick-off at 3.15pm.
