Since she started entering knitting and crochet items more than 10 years ago Mrs Davis has been winning awards every year for her skill and attention to detail.
“I put in 19 [entries] but that was all over in the craft [section],” Mrs Davis said.
From her entries she won 17 first place awards, a second place and best in division.
Each of her eight crochet entries won first place and Mrs Davis also entered items into the knitting section and a tapestry cushion cover.
“I do pretty well but it’s good to see all the other quality work,” she said.
“I do it so I can go and have a look at all the stuff all the other ladies do.
“It was good this year, there was more [craft entries] this year.”
The 79-year-old said her family, including six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, has been supportive and went along to see her work at the show.
“They have bigger swelled heads than I have,” Mrs Davis said.
“They went to see the entries, they get some reward with what I do, a lot of the knitting I give away to them.”
Mrs Davis is also passing her skill on and has taught one of her granddaughters to crochet.
“A lot of people don’t do it anymore, it’s one of the dying arts,” she said.
