STEPPING UP: Orange City's under 17s are out to finish their junior careers with a bang.
GAME ON: The Orange City under 15s are ready for their grand final.
TWO of Orange City's junior teams are one win away from premiership glory.
The under 17s and under 15s will contest Saturday's Central West Junior Rugby Union grand finals.
The two Orange City teams have been the dominant sides in their competitions with both going through undefeated to claim the minor premierships.
For the under 17s, coach Fletcher Niven said the team's success comes down to their familiarity with each other.
"They're a good group of boys," Niven said.
"More than half of them have played together since under 13s. There are some who have been together since under 10s."
The under 17s will take on Dubbo in their grand final which Niven expects to be challenging.
Orange City came out on top during their regular season clash as well as in the semi-final.
"In the semi-final, the Dubbo forwards at times dominated our forwards," Niven said.
"We've got some great backs. I expect our backs to dominate and our forwards need to pick their act up. If we pick up our scrums and line-outs we should do well."
Niven, who coaches the side with Andy Hillan, said captain Harry Taberner had been a strong leader for the team and showed his versatility in the field.
The under 15s have come a long way from struggling during the 2011 season.
They were the lower age Orange City side then and found the going tough.
This season has been different as they dominated and scored 803 points and conceded just 39.
"I've had these boys for four years," coach David Brown said.
"It's been a four-year work in progress. They do deserve to be here."
Brown said it is the players' continual improvement and determination which has ensured they were competitive in 2012.
"They're probably not the biggest side but they are extremely physical and they play smart rugby," Brown explained.
"They have good footy heads. They've improved all the time and they've worked for this."
The under 15s, under the guidance of captain James Donato, will go up against Mudgee in tomorrow's decider.
The two sides met in the major semi-final where Orange City came out on top 31-0 but Brown said the match was tougher than the score indicates.
The CWJRU grand finals will be played at Wellington tomorrow with the under 13s decider between Mudgee and Dubbo Blue kicking off at 9.15am.
The under 15s play at 10.45am and the under 17s kick-off at midday.
