WORKING outdoors on projects such as a vineyard or restoring old vehicles will be an important part of schooling for students at Anson Street School following the allocation of a grant from the National Australia Bank.
The school’s vocational program will benefit by a $30,000 donation and teacher at the school David Gell said the money would make it possible for students to extend their learning experiences in a hands-on way.
The grant has been made possible through a partnership created by the Rotary Club of Orange Daybreak and the NAB.
The money will be used to purchase stock to be planted, which this year includes small trees as part of an arrangement with Orange City Council and Cadia Valley Operations.
“This grant is absolutely fantastic for us as it now allows us to do so much with the students,” Mr Gell said.
The money will also be used to purchase equipment necessary for students to be able to maintain the plantings in the vineyard and the nursery as well as tools for the automotive program.
