The Kenjarhy Group’s praise of the Manildra Group comes at a time when the federal government is planning to bolster the number of indigenous people working in the public sector, while also offering indigenous businesses a bigger slice of government procurement contracts.
Kenjarhy Group director Brad Draper said he has been working alongside Manildra Group management for around two years on providing short and long-term labour requirements and training services.
“Our entire ethos is to change the perception that people and industry have of dealing with indigenous businesses,” Mr Draper said.
“The Manildra Group, John Chilcott [human resources manager] and his supervisory staff are doing that at present.
“They engage us on commercial terms because we do a good job, but ultimately they have been one of the first to do this.
“The staff that work for us are testament that an indigenous business does not only engage indigenous people, it is about integration of all people into a successful and harmonious workforce of which the Manildra Group achieve.”
The Manildra Group is just one of many ASX-listed companies the 100 per cent Aboriginal owned and operated Kenjarhy Group provides services for as it works to promote the benefits of engaging an Indigenous business.
“People out there should consider engaging an indigenous company to work with,” Mr Draper said.
