Following a Waste2Workshop and Orange PCYC open day today, Youth Week will culminate with an all ages concert.
The line-up for tomorrow’s concert featuring US artist Luke Dowler, Victorian band The Quick and The Dead and two local acts is projected to attract more than 500 people to the north court precinct.
It’s estimated more than 2000 people will have taken part in this year’s NYW activities, including the Dye Hard Fun Run, a skate school, spray-art workshops and live music projects.
Orange City Council youth development officer Katrina Hausia said success was due to involvement from the wider community, not just those in the 12 to 24 bracket.
“We’ve had activities supported by people of all ages and interests...It’s important the whole of the community sees youth as part of the community, not separate, and celebrates that,” Ms Hausia said.
The concert starts at 6pm. If it’s raining, it will be at the Function Centre.
