A SERVICE station attendant was left badly shaken after two men wearing balaclavas threatened him with an iron bar before robbing the till late on Sunday night.
Canobolas Local Area Command duty officer Bruce Grassick said the attendant was the only one at the United Petroleum service station in Woodward Street at the time of the incident.
“An investigation is under way and we’d like anyone who saw anything to come forward,” he said.
“The attendant was shaken up, but had no injuries.”
Inspector Grassick said the two men entered the service station at around 10.25pm and threatened the 35-year-old attendant with an iron bar before demanding he lie on the floor.
They then jumped over the counter and stole cash, and the attendant’s mobile phone, before fleeing.
Inspector Grassick said the men were described as thin in appearance. They were wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident.
The crime scene was examined by specialist forensic officers and an investigation is under way.
