Armed robbery at service station overnight

POLICE are investigating the armed robbery of a service station in Orange last night.

Shortly before 10.30pm yesterday two males forced entry to the service station on Woodward Street armed with an iron bar.

The intruders, who had their faces concealed, threatened the 35-year-old male attendant with the iron bar before demanding he lie on the floor.

They then jumped the counter and stole cash before fleeing. They also took the attendants mobile phone.

Police were alerted and officers from Canobolas Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

An investigation into the robbery has commenced and detectives are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has any information, to contact Orange Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
