AROUND 50 people went to the Orange Botanic Gardens on Wednesday night to welcome the newest addition to Orange’s collection of public art and sculpture.

The work by Canadian-Australian artist Orest Keywan was a former winner of the Bondi Sculpture by the Sea contest and was donated to the Orange community by the National Australia Bank (NAB).
NAB art curator Claire Marshall was on hand to unveil a plaque along with Orange councillor Neil Jones. Ms Marshall spoke of the crucial role former regional gallery director Alan Sisley played in encouraging major works of sculpture to be exhibited in Orange.
Because of the number of sharp edges contained in the work, the sculpture is now surrounded by water and positioned in the middle the billabong at the gardens.
