Over 140 vases of the flowers made for a dramatic spread of colour in the St Barnabas Anglican Church hall, with roses, daisies, vegetables and pot plants also making up some of the other exhibits.
Orange dahlia championship winner Graeme Davis, from Canberra, said he was happy with the result of his entries.
“I enjoy it [the show] because you catch up with different people. I’ve got to come to Orange at least once a year,” Mr Davis said.
“It keeps the quality of the show up and the locals on their toes,” added Orange and District Horticultural Society president Bob Smith.
Mr Smith said he was impressed by the quality of the flowers exhibited at the show.
“We have a pretty high quality of flowers this year,” he said.
“I think it was because we just had the luck of the weather.”
