The boot camp will include input from four experienced Australian Roller Derby coaches as well as two current Australian players and junior programs, specialised fresh meat classes and off-skate seminars.
There will also be three tracks of classes and bouts for all skill levels.
A Roller Derby Australia-backed program, the Derby Fest Home Grown boot camp is a “super exciting time for Orange in the derby world”, if you ask Orange Roller Derby president Leanne McCulloch.
“The Orange Roller Derby League is so proud that we have this event on our front door step at our local PCYC,” she said.
“If all goes to plan we will probably be able to host this type of event again ... great revenue for the town with over 200 competitors with families and friends in tow.”
The boot camp is closed to the general public, however Saturday night’s bouts are open to anyone interested in viewing the sport.
Anyone interested in the event can contact McCulloch on 0400 393 800.
