This Saturday at 10am Cameron will begin a 24-hour rowing marathon to raise money for Trudy Swain in her battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
“I just wanted to do something a bit different,” Mr Jones said.
“I think it’s a really worthy cause so I decided to just give it a go.”
The longest Cameron has spent on the rower in preparation is four hours, and with an extra 20 looming he’ll be looking forward to the small breaks he’ll be having.
“I get to have a five minute break every half an hour,” he said, “and unless something drastic goes wrong, that’s all I’ll be having.”
A roster of friends has being drawn up and they will watch over him at Orange Central Fitness, especially during the early hours of the morning.
“They’ll be there to make sure I don’t collapse,” he said.
One thing is for sure, after he finishes it will be some time before he gets back on a rowing machine.
As he eased down for a photograph he laughed, “I already hate this machine.”
