KINROSS Wolaroi School’s rowing team performed well in the Sydney Rowing Club Regatta on Saturday and the NSW Rowing Association Schoolboys head of the river competition on Sunday, both held at Sydney International Regatta Centre.

Saturday began with a good second place in an all-but-full GPS field in the schools second four.
This was followed up with a convincing win in the schools first four. The schoolboys third eights crew gained a win, before the two Kinross schoolboy quads then came first and second in their race to round out a successful morning.
Kate Hall came fourth in the under 21 single scull, following it up with a second place in her division of the under 23 single scull. She capped off her day with a strong win in a composite crew, in the women’s under 19 quad scull.
Kinross’ medal tally grew steadily through to finals of the schoolboy head of the river on Sunday, with Connor Mealing, Will Stanley-Davies both coming second in their respective year 10 single scull divisions.
In the corresponding double scull events, Kinross crews came third and fourth.
Kinross’ crews came second in the schoolboy second quad scull, and won the schoolboy first quad scull convincingly.
The year nine single scull crew came fourth in division three, followed by wins in second and first division by Richmond Sear and Harry Crouch respectively.
Aiden Kelso and Harrison Sear claimed gold medals in the year nine double scull.
In the year eight quad scull events Kinross came third in second division and fourth in first division.
Four Kinross rowers excelled in the schoolboy single scull events, with James Allen, Nedd Brockmann, Joe Yeomans and Zac Whitehead coming second, first, first and third in their respective divisions.
In the schoolboy double scull events Kinross came third, second and fourth in divisions three, two and one respectively while the four Kinross crews in the year nine quad scull races earned fourth, fifth, third and first placings in divisions four, three, two and one respectively.
Bradman Gavin and Edward Longley won their respective division one and two year eight single scull events, while Jeremy Elliott came second in third division, and Kinross crews rowed fifth and sixth in the corresponding double scull events - in divisions two and one respectively.
In the year 10 fours Kinross came second before the year 10 quad scull crews won both first and second division.
In the final race of the day Kinross won the eights event decisively, finishing with a total of 13 gold medals, seven silvers and eight bronze medals, along with winning the point score event over St Ignatius and Shore.
