Police prosecutor Sergeant Phil Donato opposed bail, saying Minnett posed a continuing threat to the victim, after he broke into her house on the weekend and chased her outside when she arrived home.

The court heard Minnett and the Orange woman met on the dating site almost seven weeks ago.

Minnett caught the train to Orange on weekends and the victim would drive him back to Dubbo.

However, Minnett, who has a lengthy criminal history, including violence towards women, began sending texts to the victim warning her of the consequences if she cheated on him.

The texts included “I know where you live, I don’t play games, I always win and if you go to the cops I will kill you.”

He also told the victim via text message “You can run but you can’t hide and I don’t care if I do 5, 10 or 15 years.”

The victim went to the police and they immediately issued an apprehended violence order, which was when Minnett uploaded naked photos of the victim onto an advertising site offering a sexual service using the woman’s name.

She received 100 text messages and 20 telephone calls withinseveral hours of the photos being uploaded.

According to police facts, on Sunday morning, Minnett smashed through a laundry window in the victim’s home and waited for her to return.

When she came home, she noticed the television was on and looked up to see Minnett standing in her bathroom.

She allegedly ran out of the house screaming “He’s here, he’s here,” and the accused chased her.

However, the woman’s ex-partner, who was standing in the kitchen, ran the accused down and punched him to the ground, where he was held until police arrived.

The accused did not enter a plea on Monday and he will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
