Thaikkudam Bridge are a rock band from India that have played in the Middle East and Singapore and in May will be heading to Europe with their distinctive sounds.
In between though they’re heading to Australia for a series of concerts organised by local promoter Sabu Joseph.
“Thaikkudam Bridge play a mix of Indian and English language rock songs,” Mr Joseph said, “They will be starting their tour in Perth and then going to Adelaide and Wollongong before coming to Orange for a week. Then they will be continuing on to Canberra and Melbourne.”
Coming from Kochi on the west coast of India, the band got their name from the bridge under which they practised.
Their unique sounds, ranging from sweet ballads through to covers of Metallica’s Nothing Really Matters and Michael Jackson’s Beat It, struck a chord with their fans and success has followed.
“They do a few covers but they give them an individual sound,” Mr Joseph said.
Thaikkudam Bridge will be performing at the Orange Function Centre on Wednesday, March 18. Tickets are available from ticketbooth.com.au, the Red Pepper Indian Restaurant on Summer Street, the Asian Spice Bazaar in the Anson Street Plaza, and the Anita Grocery Store on Glenroi Avenue. You can also grab a ticket by calling 1300 762 344 on your mobile.
