Of the 70 stalls that will be set up in Norton Park Oval from 10.30am, eight of them will be manned by students and their parents.
Parents and Community Representative Council treasurer Cathy Gutterson said she was excited so many students had chosen to take up a role in the markets.
“The cattle team will have three stalls, one selling produce, one selling plants and one selling baked goods. The Sri Lankan mission team will have a stall, there will be the clothing pool, the rugby club will have a stall and the indigenous studies teacher is organising one too,” Ms Gutterson said.
“They will be raising money to help fund their projects.”
It is the second year the school’s Parents and Community Representative Council has held the market as part of its annual fundraising endeavours.
Each year the council raises thousands of dollars to fund school improvements, education programs and a grant system.
“The funds we raise always go back to the school. Last year we donated $4000 to install ceiling fans in some of the classrooms,” Ms Gutterson said.
“We also offer two grants for teachers to apply for, at $500 each, to help with different programs and to attend courses and bring knowledge back.”
Entry to the market is a gold coin donation and refreshments and children’s entertainment will be available. The market finishes at 3pm.
